Tennis ball facts:
1. Balls used to be bigger, these days made practically to the smallest size allowed 2. Much harder than they used to be. 3. Tennis declined approximately 35% during the past 25 years.
Balls for introducing juniors into tennis started out 65mm dia, then a larger ball at 70mm was used for a while, and after comprehensive development and testing by the LTA

Now the ITF have became interested they have taken a retrograde step back, by allowing the out dated and superceded smaller balls to be used. (Under pressure from other ball suppliers we believe.)
