Smaller balls, christened ‘Red65’ and ‘Red70+ ’ by us and ‘Oversized’ , BIG’, ‘70’ by others, were superceded when replaced by the LTA bigger 75mm ball, We still have production capability for these smaller cheaper balls, in addition to the double life LTA preferred size ball.
But our honest advice is to use the size the LTA decided on, after many many months of multiple testing by their coaches.

We develop balls for the Sports Associations, Tennis, Squash, Rackekball and Fives. Developing the larger Magnum type 3 tennis ball initially for the ITF, it became a world standard ball. The larger lighter Red7.5cm mini tennis ball for the LTA, Official balls for The England Squash & Racketball Assoc for ‘Mini Squash’.and Racketball .
Tennis ball facts:
1. Balls used to be bigger, these days are made practically to the smallest size allowed 2. Are much harder than they used to be. 3. Tennis has declined approximately 35% during the past 25 years.
Originally, balls for introducing juniors into tennis were 65 mm in diameter, then up to
70mm. But the LTA preferred size became 75mm after many tests bt their coaches
