Tennis ball facts:
1. Balls used to be bigger, these days made practically to the smallest size allowed 2. Much harder than they used to be. 3. Tennis declined approximately 35% during the past 25 years.
Balls for introducing juniors into tennis started out 65mm dia, then a larger ball at 70mm was used for a while, and after comprehensive development and testing the LTA developed and
preferred size became the 75mm Red Mini Tennis ball
Although since the ITF have became interested the ITF have taken a retrograde step back by allowing the out dated superceded smaller balls to be used. (Under pressure from other ball suppliers we believe.)
